Project 1: Rhetorical Analysis Through Different Modes

KaitlinThanks for uploading your abstract. Prior to submitting your project, make sure that you include a concise summary of your findings as well, and use past tense throughout (as the abstract should be a concise summary of a finished report, as opposed to a proposal). The length is also a bit too long; Yours is about 370 words; try to keep it closer to 300. Also, please review the abstract guidelines in Blackboard>Course Documents for more information. Thanks. -RG

KaitlinThanks for submitting your research plan. Your outline is quite detailed, but make sure to include a reference to your thesis in the beginning. Also, please add several additional sources; I would like to see at least 6 in your annotated bibliography; each annotation should be at least 200 words long, including a concise summary as well as how it supported your argument. Make sure also to vary the focus of your research; all of your present sources appear to be from the same resource. Thanks. -RG

KaitlinThanks for uploading your first draft. Here are some suggestions for you: Place your abstract at the beginning of your argument to provide the reader with a concise summary of your thesis, your main ideas and conclusions; after reading the first paragraph, I know that you are concerned with rhetoric, but am unclear what your main thesis is. Please clarify; thanks for highlighting the importance of Hall's "Works Cited" information. It is indeed an essential element. Don't forget that your formal projects require a 5 item annotated bibliography. Each annotation should be at least 200 words, provide a concise summary of the article and tell how the source supported your argument; I would like to see you compare your articles directly, versus your preference of treating them separately; your general sentence structure and grammar are good; try to include the page or paragraph number(s) of your in-text citations whenever possible; good first effort! -RG
