A General Education extends the knowledge and perception we have about everyday occurences in our lives and others around us. Any type of person that studys and researches a subject is bettering themselves and mankind as well. If we could go back in time to see how much we have stretched ourselves to answer questions that have been around since the beginning of our exsistince. Why are we here, where did we come from, how did we get here in the first place. The same questions have been around for years, but it seems as though we are alot closer to answer these questions now than we ever have been. The author of this passage states,"A general education gives us knowledge about the world and those who live and the ability to continue pursuing knowledge both within the university and outside of it. Having received a general education, we are able to learn throughout our lives." This statement agrees with the truth of facts of science as well as a "better tomorrow." Could one disagree that general education helps us understand how people and animals live simbiotic. The author states that with a general education we have a more broad intepretation of physical properties of the universe.

A complex universe with so much information we can only hope to have a broad general education. So with a general understanding of our enviroment we understand that a university education requires high demand for specializing in one particular area. The author of this passage states that as we progress in time, our understanding in one area is greater, as this happens our general education becomes larger. It is a very good argument the author makes and I have to agree. But at the same time, inventions and knowledge of physics has been catastrophic.

We cannot ignore that millions of people have died because of broading our general education. People have created weapons to fight against our own human race. War has not subsided. The author seems to have a kind heart which is nice and all but the truth is, this is a dog eat dog world. If you don't fight for what is rightfully yours, you will be right where you started. The author seems to be stepping down when someone is "not persuaded by reason, evidence, and logic." I think to better our general education we need to argue and fight for what we believe is the truth. Everyone has a belief in something and everyone cannot agree with the same morals and virtues. For a better general education we must study the facts, and argue our theory, logic or reason.
